Google recognizes Kendo UI as a trusted HTML5 framework and partners on key initiatives around Chrome OS
WALTHAM, MA, May 15, 2013 – After 18 months of market penetration, Telerik announced today significant success with Kendo UI, the framework for building HTML5 and JavaScript websites, desktop and mobile apps. In less than two years, the framework has been downloaded more than 200,000 times, is in use in more than 200 countries and has been acknowledged by leading authorities as a framework of choice for application development. Moreover, for its proven capabilities, Google has continued to work with Telerik and the Kendo UI team on the creation of HTML5-based apps that will support its cutting-edge Chrome OS platform.
The goal of the collaboration and subsequent release of the Camera App, shipping as part of Google Chrome OS and delivering a full-featured photo booth style application, is to demonstrate the importance of and Telerik’s commitment to developer choice.[1] “We believe very strongly that developers should have a choice in how they create and develop tomorrow’s latest and greatest technologies,” said Todd Anglin, EVP of Cross-Platform Tools & Services at Telerik. “Application development is not a zero-sum game, HTML5 is a viable and valuable option to those who want to take a write once and deploy many strategy. We along with Google recognize this and will work together to deliver all the tools necessary for developer success.”
Telerik has conducted intense analysis to get a more complete view of the market as it relates to HTML5 – including two industry-related surveys with a combined 9,000+ respondents. The results clearly indicated time and again, that “the modern web” is advancing at a rapid pace. Because of this, Kendo UI has been strategic in the design and development of its technology, offering key features such as web app and mobile app development frameworks, rich UI widgets and server wrappers for programmability. It offers several unique competitive differentiators including:
As a result of a concentrated effort to put forth the best technology possible and to partner with those who have like-minded goals, such as Google, the market has taken notice. In the last year and a half, 7.7 million people visited the Kendo UI web site to learn more. Of those, more than 100,000 people downloaded and are actively using the framework. In the first three months of 2013 alone, there were 20,000 new trials and a 300% increase in sales for Q1 2013 compared to Q1 2012.
“When we brought Kendo UI to the market, we knew we had a winner on our hands,” commented Todd Anglin. “HTML5 will continue to grow in importance and our framework has already helped many developers bring to bear some incredible and exciting apps. As the market continues to shift, due to disruptive mobile technologies, the Kendo UI team will push the envelope, ensuring our technology stays ahead of the competition in innovation, usability and customer adoption.”
Details on Telerik Kendo UI can be found at www.kendoui.com. Kendo UI and the Chrome OS Camera App will also be on display this week in the Developers Sandbox at Google I/O.

Empowers Enterprises to Uniquely Create Tailored Mobile Experiences via Responsive Web Design, Mobile Websites and Mobile Apps
Waltham, MA – April 29, 2013 – Telerik, an end-to-end provider of software development, lifecycle and web content management tools and solutions, today announced the release of Sitefinity 6.0, the much anticipated update to Telerik’s Web Content Management (WCM) platform. For the first time, a CMS enables enterprises to take advantage of all three mobile development strategies – Responsive Web Design, mobile websites and mobile apps. Sitefinity enables business users to deliver the right mobile experience regardless of format or device.
Morgan Stanley recently noted, “Based on the current rate of change and adoption, the mobile web will be bigger than desktop Internet use by 2015.”[1] Mobile is a disruptive force and is the future of Web Content Management. Mobile penetration is a challenge to any organization looking to deepen customer relationships, drive visibility of brand and widen the gap from that of the competition. Those without a sound mobile strategy in place will be left behind.
With the 6.0 release, Sitefinity by Telerik is the first and only WCM platform to enable enterprises to take full advantage of all three mobile development strategies—Responsive Web Design, mobile websites, and mobile apps, easily and effectively. This is unique because users now have choice and flexibility to deliver a relevant, tailored mobile experience, optimized for multiple devices, in any format they wish. Moreover, having a single platform enables a content management strategy with flexibility to shift and evolve as the business grows over time.
“Mobile has become a driving force in the market today, where more and more people are engaging with brands through mobile applications. To date, businesses have a fragmented approach to mobile application development, which is completely disconnected from the repositories where organizational data lives,” said Martin Kirov, Executive Vice President, Sitefinity, Telerik. “Unlike others, because of our broad portfolio of technologies and services, Telerik is in a unique position to help customers succeed in their mobile strategies, by delivering an all-in-one platform for mobile delivery of content integrated with Web Content Management.”
By providing a single platform to address all mobile options, enterprises can use Sitefinity to mix and match mobile approaches as much as they like. According to Gartner, “Websites, portals and mobile apps are frequently built in silos across the organization and with third-party involvement, using disconnected and disparate tools. A platform approach can assist IT managers and executives with faster time to market and an improved user experience.”[2]
As part of its comprehensive mobile offering, Sitefinity 6.0 provides unique features such as:

World-leading technology specialist chooses Sitefinity for complex multi-language, multi-region B2B web presence
Waltham, MA – April 23, 2013 – Telerik, provider of software development, lifecycle and content management tools and solutions, together with QUBA, a prominent Sitefinity Partner, today announced FARO Technologies (NASDAQ: FARO) a leading manufacturer of 3D measurement equipment and software, has chosen Sitefinity for complex multi-language, multi-region B2B web presence. FARO Technologies and QUBA will present their success story on the Telerik Sitefinity stand (E4025) at Internet World April 23-25 at Earls Court, England.
Like many successful businesses, FARO Technologies’ web presence had evolved bit by bit over the years. By 2008 the company had multiple websites using different CMS systems. Keeping content in sync was a challenge and the company quickly recognized, it needed a single website capable of delivering localized content in 12 languages to 15 regions worldwide. The goal was to truly maintain a single and consistent brand voice.
After initially working with a larger ECM vendor, the company realized it needed a content management system (CMS) that was cost-effective, flexible and easy-to-use. After an evaluation of several vendor offerings, FARO Technologies selected Sitefinity CMS by Telerik. There were three key factors behind FARO Technologies’ decision: value for money, end-user friendliness and developer support.
“Overall, our evaluation concluded that the Sitefinity solution represented better value for money for FARO,” says Erik Schradi, Senior Web Developer, FARO Europe. “For developers, Sitefinity offers better support, its architecture is close to .NET and it comes with built-in support for Windows Workflow Foundation.”
“When I was introduced to Sitefinity, I said ‘That’s easy – I can do this myself without being a technician!’ Our marketing managers were up and running with Sitefinity inside of an hour,” says Alberto Castiglioni, Marketing Team Leader at FARO Europe.
“Our web presence is much more sophisticated. Feedback from the marketing managers has been very positive and although it is too early to see concrete results, we are confident that the new site will perform well. Early analytics show that visitors are spending longer browsing the site than before,” says Erik Schradi, Senior Web Developer, FARO Europe.

Hong Kong, April 8, 2013 – Telerik today announced the second iteration of the highly successful AcceleratorHK. We are committed to being the leader in comprehensive mobile app development, which is why AcceleratorHK focuses on the ability to execute a software development strategy for mobile and desktop apps within such a strong marketplace.”
InvestHK, the Hong Kong Government’s agency responsible for business development in the territory is supportive of the program. “AcceleratorHK really helped PayAllies refine our offering and take the company to the next level,” said Carlos Rivera, Co-founder of PayAllies. “Hong Kong was a great place to launch our business, validate our assumptions and meet potential customers, mentors and investors. The amount of mobile activity in that region is just astounding.”
